The Europhile Conservative peer insisted it was still possible for Britain to remain in the European Union despite the country’s electorate voting to quit the bloc in the historic referendum.
Lord Heseltine has been a vocal Remain campaigner since Britain voted to leave, even describing the decision as the biggest disaster in his lifetime.
“And, we have to have the chance to change it before the final treat arrangements are consolidated.”
This prompted a stern response from Reid, who was keen to dig deeper into Lord Heseltine’s comments.
The host said: “Do you think that is an option – to stop Brexit – despite the will of the people?”
Lord Heseltine replied: “Yes.
“The will of the people, already, as the public opinion tests show in the polls, there is a bigger majority against Brexit than the one they got for Brexit.
